Knowing whether or not your pipes are worn out is dependent upon a number of factors. Here are some common signs that your plumbing pipes are worn out.

Common Signs Your Plumbing Pipes Are Worn Out:

Water Quality:

If water has a high acid content or comes out brown or yellow these are indicators that there is rust in the water.

Leaks:

Leaks can be detected around your home if you start noticing stains and discoloration in your walls or ceilings. Moisture does not necessarily have to be present for a leak to spring.

Tube Corrosion:

If pipe tubing shows flaking or dimpling, stains, discoloration or if the water has high acid content then this could indicate that there is corrosion.

Age:

Older piping systems are more prone to springing leaks and breakages. Having your pipes inspected yearly will help prevent future problems

Knowing what type of pipe is in your home can help pinpoint if there are any leaks, damage or simply temperatures that water can go through the pipes. Some pipes in your home have a metal base and others are plastic.  Factors such as temperature and pressure play a role in determining what kind of pipe is right in what areas.
